William IV Birds Eye Maple Wellington Chest by Holland & Sons

About the Item

With squarish top with ebony stringing over seven graduated drawers with wood knobs and swinging lock mechanism which locks all drawers, raised on a plinth base. Holland & Sons was an important maker of furniture and rival of Gillows. Commissions include Sandringham House, Balmoral Castle, Windsor Castle and the apartments of the Prince and Princess of Wales at Marlborough House. Stamped on top of drawer Holland & Sons.
