19th Century English Walnut Inlaid Floral Marquetry and Bronze Mounted Credenza

About the Item

Floral marquetry and bronze-mounted credenza. Constructed in walnut with fine marquetry specimen wood inlays and dressed with bronze mounts of serpentine, three-door form, rising from a shaped plinth base capped with a running bronze ovolo moulding; the central lockable door having a finely cut marquetry panel depicting a bouquet in an antique vase, within a rectangular bronze stiff leaf cast frame, enclosing a shelved interior; being flanked by lockable vitrine doors, each enclosing three shelves; the vertical stiles with further foliate inlay, and having Bacchic masks atop; over, a horizontal foliate marquetry band set with bronze reserves, and a running ovolo bronze band atop. English, circa 1860.
