Fine Henry Venables Stafford England Vintage British Oak Hutch

About the Item

With label- Henry Venables, Stafford England. In a dark stain beautifully constructed in two sections. The top with carved cornice over three center shelves with slots for plates, flanked by sides with doors inlaid with stars and small frieze drawers. The lower section with banded top, four drawers and serpentine carved frieze. Raised on front cabriole legs with carved moldings and a bell flower, square back legs. Brass bales and keyholes, along with keys. H. 81", W. 87", Depth 19 1/4" Condition: Please see detail photos. There are some various acceptable signs of age including some scratching to the bottom surfaces to the storage compartments at the sides, the lower section top with some gouges and stable age cracks, all mentioned for accuracy as the Hutch has a particularly fine and authentic presentation.

The lower cabinet with deep top over two short frieze drawers with oval moldings and fine brass foliate pulls. The figured wood double doors with carved recessed panels and carved leaves in the corners. Brass escutcheons, one real and one faux (lacking a key).
