Painted Step Back Cupboard
About the Item
Unique painted step back cupboard has signed initials and is dated 1839. It has sponge painted panels with bowed ribbons suspending floral designs. The center and side panels are painted with brown, green, and beige stylized herringbone, with a painted border surrounding a chocolate sponge painted panel. The doors have sponge painted panels surrounded by brick colored painted molding. There is exposed triple peg construction on the lower doors, which have their original escutcheons.
