19th Century Walnut Breakfront Pedestal Desk

About the Item

A fine quality Mid-19th Century burr walnut pedestal desk, of good proportions, having gilt tooled leather inset to inverted breakfront top, over nine drawers with original turned wooden knobs, raised on original plinth base. A great practical mid 19th century victorian pedestal desk, of good size, with the added elegance of an inverted breakfront top, this item also boasts beautiful figuring to the walnut veneers and its original turned wooden knobs. There is a huge variety of georgian and victorian pedestal desks available on the market today and they vary wildly in terms of shape, size, quality and design. This is pretty near the top bracket in terms of its features, its size, the veneers which have been used and the fact it is such good quality, which means it has clearly been produced in one of the top Mid-19th Century workshops. As with all items which we offer for sale this 19th century desk has been attended to in our workshops, by our highly skilled, trained antique furniture restorers and received a traditional wax polish finish to ensure that it is absolutely ready to be placed straight into a home, or office environment. circa 1850. Measures: height 29.25in. width 54in. depth 30.5in. Kneehole Dimensions 23.75in high x 21in wide.
