Carved Oak and Metal Bureau Desk, 19th-20th Century
About the Item
Desk with three drawers to the front that has slightly curved legs and a carving centered on the front of the furniture based on simple plant elements and moldings with curves and counter curves, inspired by the Rococo. This style also influences the shape of the front of the furniture, especially in the area of the two drawers and the bottom of them. When lowering the cover a central hollow with a horizontal table and two stepped drawers with a hollow on each side of that central zone is discovered. The piece of furniture recalls French examples inspired by the Louis XV style that were created in the 19th and early 20th century.
