Contemporary Desk in White Oak with Pencil Drawers by Boyd & Allister
About the Item
We designed this desk to feel light and airy while remaining stable and providing some small storage for papers and pencils. The diagonal supports in the back provide the stability needed for the desk to feel solid while maintaining a minimal frame and creating a beautiful shape. It is an example of form following function in a beautiful way. The desk top has back cuts on the underside picking up the angled detail of the supports. The desk is built entirely of solid White Oak. We hand select all of the wood in our pieces and pay particular attention to choosing boards with exceptional grain and character for the top . The drawers are made of solid white oak with dovetailed joints and mounted with Euro-style under mount soft-close hardware. Our standard finish is a low sheen durable spray finish but we are also happy to use a hand rubbed oil and wax if that is preferred.

Boyd & Allister
Boyd & Allister is a custom furniture studio located in Santa Fe, New Mexico. We have been hand making furniture for designers and architects around the country since 2010. We custom make each piece using traditional joinery methods and hand select each piece of wood. We source our wood from small sawyers around the country who bring the same level of care to their craft as we bring to ours. Many of our designs are inspired by mid century masters; timeless with clean lines, allowing the beauty of the wood to shine.
Can be made in Walnut Ash Cherry or as seen in the white oak.
