English Inlaid Ladies Desk
About the Item
This ladies desk is intricately inlaid with classical urns, draped ribbons and bellflowers on the stiles and legs. There is boxwood line inlay on the top, drawers, legs, and sides. The center cabinet has a beveled glass door with molded framing. The cornice has inlaid ebony and boxwood dentil molding. The top surface has a large inlaid satinwood classical urn with rams heads supporting floral swags. Inlays are inscribed with green and black accents. The leg stiles are inlaid with boxwood edging, classical urns, and bellflowers. The center drawer has an inset writing surface which has a green leather with gold and blind tool writing surface, which has a ratcheting system to adjust the angle of the writing surface.
