Georgian Mahogany Pedestal Desk, 18th Century

About the Item

Georgian Mahogany pedestal desk An 18th century Georgian mahogany pedestal desk. The desk has a gold tooled black leather writing surface, three drawers across the front and two cupboards. The left hand cupboard has four drawers inside and the right hand cupboard has two fixed shelves. The drawers are mahogany lined and have original gilt brass handles. The desk has dummy drawers and cupboards to the back and the pedestals have a decorative mould bead to both sides. The desk is in good condition, the leather writing surface is a black tooled leather hide replacement. The cupboard doors have locks and a single key but are also fastened closed with a small brass bolt to the top edge of the doors. The desk breaks down into three parts for transport. (Circa 1790) Measures: Height 78.5cm (30.9 inches) Width 171cm (67.3 inches) Depth 77.5cm (30.5 inches).
