About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this lovely restored circa 1820 Georgian Oak with restored hand dyed brown leather top, twin pedestal double sided partner desk A very well made piece, the timber is English oak which has a glorious patina to it in the right light. The leather top has been restored, I’ve had it lightly washed back then hand dyed this glorious whisky brown colour, the idea was to keep the original patination but give the colour it deserves This is a period doubled sided partner desk meaning its designed for two "Partners" to share or perhaps one partner and their secretary. The front has nine drawers, the middle drawer has been modernised to a sliding keyboard drawer, this could be reverted back to a normal drawer for the cost price. The back has two large bookcase cupboards and three drawers The timber frame has all been cleaned waxed and polished, there are colour variations between the drawers on the pedestal and desk top, the leather has a stunning original antique look, this really is a very fine desk and worthy of any library or study Dimensions: Height 81.5cm Width 148cm Depth 122cm Leg room Height 67.5cm Width 62cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
