George III Mahogany and Inlaid Linen Press
About the Item
For sale is a top quality George III mahogany and inlaid clothes press in the manner of Ince & Mayhew. The inlay to the oval panel doors inlaid depicting putto and 18th century maidens, the doors opening to four sliding trays, the drawers to the lower section are profusely inlaid with foliate marquetry. Overall this piece is in very good order, showing minor signs of wear commensurate with age and use. Circa 1780.

Ince & Mayhew were a partnership of furniture designers and cabinet makers run by William Ince and John Mayhew from 1759 until 1803 in London.
