Baroque Tabernacle Secretaire, Mid-18th Century

About the Item

Baroque Tabernacle Secretaire in three parts, boasting a three-drawer lower chest set on graceful compressed ball feet. The gently curved drawer fronts offer comfortable seating. Above, a slanted flap with a central lock reveals four compartments and two extra drawers. The upper section presents a central tabernacle compartment, flanked by six drawers, crowned by a raised cornice featuring an additional drawer. Inside the tabernacle, eight more petite drawers are tucked away. Adorned with walnut veneer on all sides and intricate inlaid designs, this secretary has been professionally restored and hand-polished, showcasing both sophistication and artistry.
