A Macassar ebony secretaire side cabinet with a rectangular stepped top above an open recess and a fall front enclosing a fitted interior, flanked by cupboard doors enclosing shelves above two cupboard doors enclosing shelves on a plinth base. Provenance: Designed for the Yardley Showroom in London. T.Lyddon Gardener (1910-1969), the Chairman and Managing Director of Yardley Cosmetics. Thence by descent. Sold at 11/11/04 Bonhams - Lot #213
