19th Century English Regency Mahogany Sideboard

About the Item

English Regency sideboard from the early 19th century. Solid mahogany and veneered. Two-tier body standing on 6 turned legs, the front of which is predominantly veneered with flamed mahogany wood and decorated with ebony thread inlays. A large, slightly convex protruding drawer is flanked by a large drawer on the right-hand side and the counterpart as a door instead of the drawer on the left-hand side. On the left and right of the protruding cover plate there is another drawer each, as well as secret compartments that come to the fore in the middle behind two small sliding doors. Dimensions: 97 cm or 115 cm high / 38 inch or 45 inch high, 214 cm wide / 84 inch wide, 60 cm or 74 cm deep / 24 inch or 29 inch deep The piece of furniture has been professionally restored and polished with shellac.

    Repaired: Small damage to the veneer was re-glued and retouched. The entire surface has been polished with shellac (French polish). All done by professional German furniture restorers. Refinished. Wear consistent with age and use. All functions of this cabinet have been checked by professional German furniture restorers.
