Borge Mogensen: “Oresund” Sideboard Teak and Pine Design, 1955

About the Item

Sideboard "Oresund" designed by Borge Mogensen in 1955 and produced by Karl Anderson & Soner between 1955 and 1960. This sideboard is made of teak and pine. Two different looking woods that combined together give a very nice colour to the furniture. Furthermore it has its original lacquered drawers, coloured to make this sideboard unique and very nice. Its simple and functional design allows this sideboard to find its place in any room of a house. From a functional point of view, the sideboard is composed of a part dedicated to lacquered drawers, and another part dedicated to shelves in order to store larger items. Borge Mogensen was well known for his functional, simple and beautiful furniture. This sideboard is therefore at the heart of Mogensen's design and more widely of Scandinavian Modernism.
