Diminutive Hepplewhite Inlaid Two-Drawer Sideboard

About the Item

A diminutive Hepplewhite mahogany rectangular two-drawer sideboard with line inlay, period round brass pulls, with elongated diamond inlay flanking the drawers, over four tapered square legs with bellflower inlay. The top edge is decorated with fine checkered inlay, which continues along the base, wrapping onto the sides of the case. Dates to the 19th century in good overall condition, with a repair brace on the front left leg, border inlay losses, surface imperfections, restorations, and wear commensurate with age and use. A great fit for that smaller dining room with tight spaces! Dimensions: 39.75 in H x 43.18 in W x 17.5 in D.

    Repaired: Bracket has been added to leg, drawers may have been rebuilt. A great looking piece, but possibly adapted. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Minor structural damages. Minor fading. Finish issues to the top, missing veneer and losses to drawer fronts and sides. Shrinkage cracks, and other expected wear due to age. Added metal bracket to leg.
