Flame Mahogany Regency Twin Pedestal Sideboard

About the Item

An early Regency twin pedestal sideboard in flame mahogany with a bowed tablet frieze which is flanked by two dovetailed drawers and a lower cupboard to the left, and a single dovetailed drawer mounted with a wine holder and lower cupboard to the right. The central frieze is fitted with two long drawers, the upper mounted with a central bullseye very much in the Regency manner. All drawers are mounted with brass ringed lion mask pulls. The drawers and cupboard fronts are solid mahogany; the rest of the carcass being constructed from oak. This sideboard is very much in the manner of John Soane. English or Scottish, circa 1800.

    This is a superb antique English Regency flame mahogany shaped serpentine bowfront sideboard, Circa 1820 in date. It is crossbanded, bordered with ebony lines and fitted with a central frieze drawer above a recessed arched apron drawer. It is flanked by two short drawers to one side and a cellarette drawer to the other. It has superb decorative brass foliate anthemion ring handles and is raised on elegant ring turned tapered legs.
