Inlaid Loose Belief Attributed to Paolo Buffa from La Permanente Mobili Cantù

About the Item

High quality rosewood sideboard moved on front and sides. Front has five lozenge-shaped doors, surrounded by floral inlays. The base and classic spiked leg choked and finely inlaid ends in important brass finials. The top has a splendid diagonal rosewood motif that is separated by a fillet to give space to the rosewood laid end to end in the double-layered border, at the back a small riser completes the elegance of the piece of furniture. The sideboard is in its original state, the joinery is very good, it has some sagging on the top polish and is missing a dowel on the edge. Piece attributed to the designer/manufacturer shown above. It has no attribution mark or proof of authenticity, but is documented in design history. Packaging with bubble wrap and cardboard boxes is included. If the wooden packaging is needed (fumigated crates or boxes) for US and International Shipping, it's required a separate cost (will be quoted separately).

This exquisite Italian sideboard or chest of drawers crafted by Permanente Mobili of Cantù in the late 1950s is a stunning example of mid-century modern design. The beautiful woodwork on the front of the six drawers creates a striking contrast between light and dark tones, while the sides feature an elegant herringbone pattern that adds a touch of refinement. A hammered black lacquer band underneath the top adds a subtle but distinct touch of sophistication to the piece. The original and distinctive handles are crafted from the same wood as the drawers, adding to the seamless and cohesive design. The chest of drawers is topped with a sleek black glass plate...
