Original Painted Swedish Sideboard Console Dated 1810

About the Item

This large Swedish original painted pine console sideboard is a rare find due to its unique shape, size and age. Note the angled sides with storage, and central storage with date of 1810 on interior door. Narrow upper drawer is almost hidden; no pull. Please enlarge photos to appreciate the original painted base with four paneled doors, softly distressed through generations of use. Antique white, blue and faded red/orange are seen in the residual remaining paint. The pine top was refinished at some point in time, leaving it with a more clean, waxed finish. Restored, strong, stable and ready for use. All scratches, cracks, dings, stains (see top) or age related separation are commensurate with age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this lovely console. Please refer to professional photos for clear understanding of color, condition and details; photo lighting, individual monitor display and home lighting may all impact how item is viewed. This cabinet is a charming representation of early 19th century Swedish craftsmanship, from both the cabinet maker and the painter that created it. The aged patina of the painted finish draws one to it. The single panel door is painted with a traditional floral motif against a soft teal blue background. A traditional faux wood brown painted finish is seen throughout. Note the original lock still functions with key which is included. While you can frequently still find antique original painted trunks...
