About the Item
Very rare sideboard designed and made by the small Italian firm Ottini Milano, circa 1970. Made from wood entirely covered in lacquered parchment. Ottini was renowned among Italian designers and architects for making furniture using only top-of-the-range materials such as goatskin, crocodile skin, tortoiseshell, python skin and heather wood.
All the different shades of colour obtained with lacquered parchment are revealed to the naked eye. The use of parchment might feature a subtle sheen, giving the sideboard a luxurious and refined look. Lacquered parchment lacquered offers a lustrous finish, providing a unique texture and visual appeal.
This sideboard embodies the elegance, sophistication, and design ingenuity characteristic of Italian furniture craftsmanship from the 1970s, reflecting both the artistic trends of the era and the timeless allure of Otiini Milano's creations.
