French 1820s Carved Walnut Vitrine with Glass Doors, Hidden Panels and Drawers

About the Item

A French Restauration period walnut vitrine enfilade from the early 19th century, with bonnet-shaped cornice, foliage, agricultural tool motifs, glass doors and hidden panels. Born in France during the second decade of the 19th century, this walnut vitrine cabinet features a molded bonnet-style cornice, overhanging an exquisite façade adorned with foliage, vases and agricultural motifs, carved in low-relief. Three glass doors make up the upper part of the cabinet. They open to reveal inner adjustable shelves, offering convenient storage opportunities, along with the carved panels that separate them. The piece's lower section, the enfilade, showcases three wooden doors decorated with a richly carved décor, surrounding two small drawers with brass pulls. Accented with a delicately scrolled skirt, the cabinet is raised on four feet, the front ones being scrolled. With its skilfully carved motifs, great portions and lovely patina, this French Restauration period walnut vitrine enfilade circa 1820, will be an undeniable focal point in any home, particularly in a dining or living room.
