Pair of Trumeau Bookcases in Mahogany Designed by Paolo Buffa, 1950s

About the Item

This exquisite Mahogany trumeau boasts a stunning design, featuring two doors at the base, along with an upper section that includes a showcase with two doors, a central connecting part with a flap door and an internal citronnier secretaire. The piece is further adorned with beautiful brass inlays crafted by Luigi Anzani, which add a touch of sophistication to its appearance. The legs are elegantly finished with brass tips, which lend an air of elegance to the overall aesthetic. One notable aspect of this trumeau is the perfect working order of all the locks, each accompanied by its respective key. The interior of the showcase is upholstered in the original velvet from the period, which has been expertly maintained in good condition over the years. The glasses used in the piece are also original and have remained in perfect condition. Although there are two identical furniture pieces, there is a slight difference between them, which can be observed in the pictures. The knobs of the small drawers inside the flap door serve as the only distinguishing feature between the two, making each piece unique and special in its own way. Overall, this Mahogany trumeau is a rare and exquisite find, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship and timeless beauty.

In the 1950s, Paolo Buffa designed this stylish Italian mid-century sideboard. There is a great deal of elegance in this piece. The sinuous lines of the sides and the refined combination of different shades of wood make this piece special. It's also noteworthy that the brass parts were cast in lost wax (it almost appears that they were made by a goldsmith). Very well-kept conditions, completely restored, ready to use. The large sideboard, the dining table, and the chairs are also available, currently undergoing restoration. Literature "I mobili di Paolo...
