Available today, this one-of-a-kind Brazilian Modern bar cart in imbuia hardwood & alabaster wheels designed by Casa Finland in the sixties is stunning!
This rare, Mid-Century Modern gem is made in Imbuia hardwood and has four delicate, original wheels made in alabaster. The bar cart has straight lines and has rectangular shape with two levels for beverages and a back compartment.
When we bought this set, the wood was painted in black. Normally, when the wood is painted it either means the wood is not a precious one or that was painted by previous owners (not aware of the wood quality). But during the restoration process we found the wood was Imbuia, a precious wood favorite of mid-century designers in Brazil.
Once the piece was refinished, the wood displayed lively, fabulous wood veins characteristic of aged tropical woods. Besides the marks of age, the piece is in excellent condition.
This piece has all the fun aspects of a true Brazilian Modern piece -- clean, straight lines, exuberant use of wood that is unmistakably Mid-Century Modern. A gorgeous piece like this would look wonderful in any Mid-Century Modern, American farmhouse, contemporary, or even boho chic environment.
This bar cart is another good example of Brazilian design and woodwork in the 1960s.
