About the Item
A Rare Early Georgian Mahogany Tripod Candle Stand
This fine piece of early English furniture dates to the mid-19th century, George II period. It is made from rich dense Cuban mahogany and has a wonderful original color and patination. The circular turned top has a raised and moulded edge. It is supported onto a bolstered column which has a complicated assortment of elegant turned designs throughout its length. It stands on a tripod base with shaped splayed legs with a stepped collar at the top. This piece is in good original condition.
