Federal Lyre Base Card Table
About the Item
A very nice Federal Mahogany Lyre / harp base card table 1800-1815. Original surface with an excellent color and patina on the nicely figured solid Cuban Mahogany one board canted corner reeded edge tops.. White pine secondary case wood under the figured Mahogany veneered frieze and the underside of the well. Solid Brass strings and molded caps on the lyre. Reeded legs are dovetailed into the base and held with the original iron straps. Very solid heavy table in very good condition. All the legs are tight to the base and have never been broken or repaired.
