About the Item

Biedermeier Mahogany Centre Table, Workshop of Johannes Klinckerfuss, 1830 Mahogany veneered with lightwood banding, with gabled frieze, on three scrolled legs and a trefoil base. Height 75 cm, diameter 48 cm Johannes Klinckerfuss (1770 - 1831) Master Craftsman moved from Frankfurt to Stuttgart, South-west Germany where he joined the workshop of David Roentgen. He soon became one of 19th century’s most famous Cabinet Makers and Ebenists to the Royalty of Wuerttemberg and the Nobility of Southern Germany. Before the last owner, an aristocrat in Stuttgart, the table belonged to the Prince of Hohenlohe’s family.
