Mid-Century Modern Reclaimed Beech Trunk-Slab Custom-Made Table the Netherlands
About the Item
This vintage solid beech slab has been reclaimed from a rustic coffee table from the 1960s
The wood slab has been sandblasted and heat treated first in a 120 degrees celsius oven overnight to make sure any living organisms inside were killed
A skilled woodworker and restorer fitted it with George Nakashima inspired triangle shaped dowels made from a 'fresh' piece of beechwood in the original drying cracks of the slab
The top has been refurbished and thoroughly hand-polished to preserve and respect its beautiful aging patina
The contrast between the old patinated beech and the contemporary dowels shows the history of the table very well
A custom-made black enameled metal base has been fitted under the table with a height that makes it perfect for presentation of a centrepiece on top.
