A Chinese antique basket coffee table from the early 20th century, made of dark brown woven rattan over wood. Born in China during the early years of the 20th century, this charming basket will make for an excellent coffee table. Presenting woven rattan over a wooden structure, this piece charms us with its rustic appearance and large proportions. The rectangular lid opens to reveal a compartmented interior, convenient for storing items. The tapering body leads the eye down to the scalloped base with pierced motifs on two sides and the cross-shaped accents of the corners. With its dark brown patina and humble appearance, this large antique Chinese rattan basket will bring a touch of authenticity to any living room or patio, particularly used as a coffee table.
