Coffee table, from the Bow Wood line circa 1950 by french company Steiner.
Top is in black "formica" veneering, tripod base in ash bentwood.
This table has wear and tear and superficial scratches on the black top, no instability.
This tripod coffee table or sofa table is lightweight, easy to be mooved. The combination of upper and lower tops makes it both original and practical.
This table is typicaly representative of French minimalism design of early 50's.
The Bow wood Line of Steiner was featured in a 1962 magazine "Esthétiques industrielles" alongside chairs and stool of the finnish designer Alvar Aalto.
This table is documented by Patrick Favardin in his book "Steiner l'aventure du design" at Norma Edition in 2007.
