Living Room Set in Vene, Senegal, 1960
About the Item
Set composed of a large coffee table and six stools made in Senegal in the 60s. The top of the coffee table (140 cm / 90 cm) is composed of a slice of Vene, resting on four legs. The tripod stools have a triangular seat.
The craftsman-creator of this set has been able to exploit all the beauty of this tree, the thickness of the top and the seats is 6.5 cm., The edges and the feet are worked with adze. The VENE or "Pterocarpus africanus" is an essence of the Sudano-Guinean dry forests nicknamed Rosewood of Senegal, (this essence is free of trade and export).
