Peter Ghyczy glass bronze rectangular coffeetable

About the Item

This beautiful, original design coffee table made of thick glass was designed by Peter Ghyczy and manufactured by Ghyczy in the 1970s. It is a XL rectangular model of the t15 series of high quality and in its signature style: a floating frameless glass exterior with a single screw is fixed / clamped. In this model, the four glass feet are held together in the middle by a brass holder. measurements: 190cm x 90cm x 30 cm Peter Ghyczy is a Hungarian-born designer known for his innovative and distinctive contributions to furniture design. Born on August 27, 1940, in Budapest, Ghyczy's career has spanned several decades, during which he has garnered recognition for his unique approach to form and function. One of his most notable creations is the Garden Egg Chair, which he designed in 1968. This iconic chair, featuring a suspended, transparent acrylic globe within a metal frame, became a symbol of modern design and has been exhibited in museums and galleries around the world. The Garden Egg Chair is celebrated for its futuristic aesthetic and the use of unconventional materials. Ghyczy's designs often reflect a harmonious blend of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary innovation. He has a penchant for experimenting with materials and pushing the boundaries of conventional design, resulting in pieces that stand out for their originality and timelessness. In addition to his work as a designer, Peter Ghyczy is also recognized for founding the Ghyczy manufacturing company in the 1970s.
