About the Item
Iconic ‘Harry’s Bar’ table in very good condition.
This table was designed by the Italian decorator Massimo papiri in the 1970s, and was manufactured by atelier Mario Sabot.
The table is finished in high quality stainless steel with a glossy black lacquered laminate on the surfaces and a matt black laminate on the base. A thick vertical acrylic window gives a view on the inside bar.
This coffee table is a magnificent demonstration of the know-how of the 70s. The materials used are of high quality. The inside bar has a blown plastic plate inside that accommodates glasses and bottles. The height of chic, interior lighting gives the room in which the table will be placed, a very glamorous atmosphere.
The lit of the bar swivels around a multipurpose stainless steel ice bucket / champagne cooler / planter. On the inside there is a stainless steel ice tray and room for seven bottles. The tables itself can rotate.
The light on inside of the bar will automatically illuminate when the bar opens.
Massimo Papiri and Willy Rizzo were responsible for allot of beautiful, luxuriant and high end design pieces during the late 1960s and 1970s period, many of which were produced under license by Mario Sabot’s atelier.
This table was published in the May 1973 issue of Casa Vogue. Accoring to page 62 in James P Goss' book "POP CULTURE FLORIDA' Papiri’s interior design commissions include among others the Ritz hotel in Paris as well as interiors for film stars such as Sylvestor Stallone, Papiri redesigned the interior of Stallone’s coconut grove mansion.

If you want to feel like James Bond, this table is what you need. This cocktail table is amongst the most prolific and therefore most wanted objects of this Italian architect, Massimo Papiri. The cocktail table immediately draws all the attention towards it, because of the classy and glamorous appearance. The black high gloss painted melamine top matches the clean stainless-steel sides in a harmonic way. The table has the appearance to be closed as all the parts fit perfectly together, however on the inside of this cocktail table, you will find an illuminated dry bar, making this table glamorous, sculptural, and architectural at the same time.
