Fox Consoles in the manner of Benjamin Goodison

About the Item

A pair of polished limestone tops supported by seated stylised foxes to each corner flanking scrolling acanthus and oak-leaf swags centered by female masks above scallop shells. These impressive console tables are an example by Benjamin Goodison, circa 1740.The tables are presented in a fully Country house aged Gesso and carved in old Pine The originals now reside in the Victoria and Albert Museum, see Christopher Wilk (ed) Western Furniture 1350 to the Present Day, Victoria and Albert Museum, 1995, p230. We are currently working to a 30-36 week lead time.
