19th Century French Renaissance Writing Table, Desk
About the Item
19th Century French Renaissance writing table ~ desk is an ode to a bygone era before the digital age, yet can serve as a splendid end table, library table or laptop desk with aplomb! Hand-crafted from solid oak, it features mitered corners which present no sharp edges, and is finished all around for placement anywhere one desires. Elongated repeating egg design covers the apron, interrupted by lion's heads on the mitered corners and at the center of the full-width drawer facade. Accolade forms with triangular rosettes adorn the bottom of the entire apron, with acorn pendant finials on each corner under the lions' heads. Support is provided by two pair of carved urn pediments, which are mounted upon a Renaissance-inspired "H" structure that consists of a molded trestle that connects outward-facing dolphins, sculpted with particular artistry, to form the feet.
