Art Deco Desk by Maison Soubrier

This stylish and chic French Art Deco mahogany desk dates to the 1930s and was created by Maison Soubrier, and the firm is still in business in its original location in Paris, France. Note: The piece was professionally restored in December of 2020. Note: Retains the original Maison Soubrier 14 Rue de Reuilly, Paris label on the verso of the desk (see 2nd image).

Note: Overall the item measures 11 3/4" height x 5 1/2" wide x 3 1/4" depth. Note: The base measures 3 1/8 inch diameter x 2 3/8" height. Note: The bronze figure itself measures 9 1/16" height. Note: There are some inclusion spots on the alabaster (see images). FYI: "Stefan Dakon (1904–1992) was an Austrian artist worked in close association with Josef Lorenzl, producing many exciting bronze figurine sculptures of the Art Deco period. Dakon's models were used among others by members of the association of bronze producers "Wiener Bronzen" ("Vienna Bronze"), as well as by the famous ceramics manufacturer Goldscheider from Vienna.
