French 19th Century Louis XV St. Kingwood, Tulipwood and Ormolu Desk
About the Item
A most elegant French 19th century Louis XV st. kingwood, tulipwood and ormolu desk. The desk is raised by beautiful slender tapered cabriole legs with fine fitted foliate ormolu sabots and exceptional pierced foliate corner mounts. The lovely scallop shaped apron displays one central drawer decorated with splendid quarter veneered parquetry designs also repeated at the back and sides. Above is the original fitted leather top with a fine gold tooled border framed within a kingwood fillet and mottled ormolu gallery. All original gilt throughout.
