French Napoleon III Bureau Plat - Desk
About the Item
A stunning and very fine 19th century French Napoleon III bureau plat - writing desk. Masterfully constructed in ebonized or lacquered wood, with bronze mounts. The top is inset with a gilt tooled leather writing surface and molded edges. The apron is elegantly sculpted with one drawer and the slight cabriole legs terminate in gilt bronzed sabots, in the manner of Jansen.
