Louis XV Ormolu-Mounted Tulipwood Bureau en Pente, attributed to Migeon

About the Item

The hinged fall front opening to reveal a fitted interior with drawers above a slide enclosing a concealed well with two drawers, raised on cabriole legs headed by scrolling chutes running to pierced foliate sabots. The whole (including the back) inlaid with quarter-veneered parquetry. Typical of the production of the Pierre Migeon dynasty of cabinet makers, because of the inlay and the bronzes. For a similar model stamped but without its mounts, see Christie's sale 1519, New York 17-18 May 2005, Lot 514.
