About the Item
Tuscany Renaissance antique table desk in hand carved solid walnut, restored and wax-polished, 1850 circa.
This type of table was born during the Cinquecento in Tuscany, and then expanded more in the rest of central Italy. As the years went by, these tables became enriched with carving of Mannerist taste and the supports became a single body with a leonine or edging end.
This important antique Renaissance Desk is from the 1850s, all in solid walnut. With two large upper drawers. Shaped and carved cupped legs with leonine paw terminations. Shaped central cross with carved central flower. All removable. Chair in Renaissance combination in carved walnut.
