Rare And Important Antique English Georgian Writing Table

About the Item

C. 1760-1780. An early and exceptional Antique writing table, English and likely Irish. With a flame mahogany banded top over a shaped apron with a single drawer. With fine openwork brass bales and escutcheon (lacking a key). Raised on all cabriole legs with carved shell knees and exceptionally carved paw feet with hairy legs. French polished. W. 35 1/2", Depth 20 3/4", H. 29 1/4" Condition: Please see all detail photos. The Table top with stable age cracks, scratches, rubs and a patch loss to the finish upper right back and smaller finish loss to the upper center as well as some time-softened Nick to the edges and losses to the Paw foot. The aforementioned is for accuracy as the Table has an exceptional presentation.
