Rare Rosewood & Lucite Desk by Poul Nørreklit for S.H. Møbelfabrik, 1960s

About the Item

This rare Rosewood and Lucite executive pedestal desk was designed by Poul Nørreklit and produced by Sigurd Hansens Møbelfabrik in Denmark in the 1960s. Incredible vivid Rosewood grain which was newly refinished in a French Polish lacquer which is thick, clear and hard due to numerous hand applied polished coats. This luxury finish is expensive and laborious but the results are amazing - the thickness and hardness of the clear coat helps to protect against regular daily use, and the glasslike clearness accentuates the vivid Rosewood grain. Four pull-out drawers with simple chrome pulls and keyholes floating on top of a thick frosted lucite base. This desk design is similar to Bodil Kjær's desk design, clean simple and modern. This Rosewood and lucite desk by Poul Nørreklit for S.H. Møbelfabrik would work great in a Mid-Century Modern, Space Age Mod, Scandanavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Post-Modern, Contemporary or Zen / Minimalism room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, Hollywood Regency, Classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office. MEASUREMENTS: H 29" x W 71.75" x D 35.5" Leg Height: 23.75" CONDITION: Rosewood was refinished in a gorgeous French Polish which protects the surface and boosts the vividness of the Rosewood grain. Lucite has light wear and patina. The top has a slight curvature but does not affect use. Ready for immediate use in a high-end luxury interior.

  • Mastercraft Brass 'Trilobi' Triangular Dining Table or Desk Bases, circa 1970
    By Mastercraft
    Located in Los Angeles, CA
One of the hottest items currently with interior designers are these gleaming brass 'Trilobi' Mastercraft dining table bases, which also work excellent for a desk or work table, feature a hefty triangular design with sculpted ends. The gorgeous brass displays subtle signs of an admirable patina, which can be highly desirable, bringing more vibrancy to this set of 1970s brass table bases by Mastercraft. And most importantly - these are authentic vintage examples... there is now an inferior (but still pricey) knock-off by RH and many dealers do not know how to spot the difference and will sell the fakes as authentic. We have owned and sold over 30 of these over the course of the last 10 years and can guarantee the ones we offer are authentic 'originals' of the design by Mastercraft. *Please note, the table bases in this listing are priced individually. **In addition, the Trilobi bases in the photos have already sold, however we two more in similar condition that are en route to us now and are available for pre-sale. Please message us with any questions. You can use a single base for a round or square top. Looks excellent with glass or marble tops - we can assist in the production of a new glass or stone top - contact us for more details. Or you can pair 2, 3 or even all 4 bases together to form a larger dining table, conference table or desk with a large rectangular or oval top. These Mastercraft brass 'Trilobi' dining table bases would be great as part of a classic or contemporary dining room, living room, family room, sunroom or kitchen. These Triboli tables would also be an apt choice in a corporate, retail or hospitality location such as a boutique restaurant...
