Rockefeller Center* Circular Reception Desk / Bar, Attrib. Donald Deskey USA, Circa 1930s Attributed to Donald Deskey for Rockefeller Center A masterwork example of American Art Deco/ Machine Age period furniture. This unique sculptural circular desk, (can be used as a dry bar) the top fitted with the original inset black glass, resting on the round conforming case, subtly crafted of stunning book-matched burled mahogany with satinwood inlaid upper and lower bands. Complete with a concealed swing entrance door, revealing a generous walk -in work space. The front is fitted with a level writing desk with an ingenious concealed mechanical fold in lower work desk, offering numerous optional uses, its perfect for a computer. The lower part of the desk is flanked to left is a pull out shelf, with four drawers. The right side is fitted with a pull out shelf, with three drawers. Raised on a ebonized pedestal base. * The Rockefeller Center provenance is by repute, at the time of posting this work has not been officially confirmed, The research is ongoing.
