Stunning Late 19th Century Desk in the Thomas Chippendale Manner

About the Item

A stunning late 19th century mahogany desk in the Thomas Chippendale manner. The moulded top of rectangular form fitted with green gilt embossed tooled leather writing skiver surface, raised over frieze with two drawers with beautifully carved blind fretwork decorative detail and ornate brass swan neck handles. Supported on very fine cabriole leg with scrolling acanthus leaf motif on knee, terminating on claw and ball foot. The rear of the frieze has two dummy drawers which enables this piece to be placed in a central position in a room if one so chooses. Knee height: 24.5 in / 67.2 cm.
