Antique Dining Table by Edwards & Roberts 19th Century and 12 Bar Back Chairs

This is a sublime satinwood and marquetry desk by Edwards & Roberts, Circa 1880 in date. This gorgeous desk is freestanding and has been crafted from beautiful satinwood which has been masterfully inlaid with a marquetry of ribbons, swags and garlands. The rectangular top is beautifully framed with walnut cross-banding and features an inset gold tooled green leather writing surface above seven capacious drawers. The desk is raised on squared tapered legs that terminate in the original brass castors. It bears the stamp of the renowned cabinet makers Edward and Roberts in the centre drawer. Complete with the original handles and working loks and key. This elegant desk will make a wonderful addition to your home or office. This is a truly magnificent antique Edwardian Goncalo Alves and marquetry inlaid upright display cabinet by Edwards & Roberts, circa 1890 in date. The cabinet is bordered with boxwood lines and decorated with scrolling foliage, cherubs, mythical creatures, urns of fruit and anthemions The moulded and simulated dentil cornice is above a pair of glazed panel doors with a mirrored back. The cupboard below with a pair of panel doors that open to a spacious cupboard. Their business also involved retailing, adapting and restoring the finest antique furniture and there are many examples of their earlier furniture with later embellishments bearing their stamp. Edwards & Roberts specialized in marquetry, inlay and ormolu. Edwards & Roberts was one of the principal London companies working in the taste of the late 18th century. They started business in 1845 and by 1854 were trading as "Edwards & Roberts, 21 Wardour Street, Antique and Modern Cabinet Makers and Importers of Ancient Furniture".
