19th Century Swedish Folk Art Work or Dining Table
About the Item
Swedish work or dining table in folk art from the early 19th century, around 1820. The table is a Swedish antique, genuine and honest with a solid frame and simple design. The proportions are charming with a slightly oversized table top and stable frame. It is painted with the original faux paint which imitates birch.
The paint is untouched and shows the unique patina of time with distress after 200 years of use. The table top especially has the warm patina of aged pine. The whole table is hand-made in solid pine and has been joined together completely with dowels. The dowels are visible if looking closely, see picture. The table is stable and healthy. The legs have a simple decorative detail at the very bottom by the floor, see picture. Measure: Height to rim is 56 cm.
