Antique Indian Sheesham Wood Palace Door Dining Table with Iron Accents
About the Item
An antique Indian rustic sheesham wood dining table from the early to mid-20th century, made from a palace door and accented with iron studs and stretchers. Hand-crafted in India during the first half of the 20th century, this sheesham wood dining table features a thick and robust top adorned by the rhythmic presence of sturdy iron studs. This top showcases a nicely weathered appearance revealing its age and use as a palace door. The apron is lightly carved on all four sides and strengthened with iron braces in the corners. The table is raised on four roughly carved turned legs, topped with square block joints and mounted on block feet. These legs are connected to the apron's underside thanks to curving iron stretchers. The table is reconstructed from an Indian palace door and made with Sheesham wood, a very solid and dense wood. With its sturdy presence, rustic appeal and metal supports, this Indian Sheesham wood table from the first half of the 20th century will add a touch of originality and authenticity to any dining room or breakfast area.
