Boomerang Dining Table by Arturo Verástegui

About the Item

Boomerang dining table by Arturo Verástegui Dimensions: D 220 x W 120 x H 75 cm Materials: walnut wood. Rectangular dining table made of walnut. Arturo Verástegui has been the director and founder of BREUER since 2015. Arturo began his career in the world of furniture at the beginning of the 1990s, until he founded BREUER with a strong industrial and trade vocation. BREUER is a company specializing in the design and manufacture of custom furniture and spaces, which began in 1993 in Mexico City under the direction of Arturo Verástegui. Since the beginning of the nineties Arturo Verástegui, founder of the company, began his career in the world of furniture: beginning with the distribution and manufacture of residential furniture and with more than a decade of experience in commercial furniture, BREUER was born with a strong industrial and trade vocation. That is only one part of our history, the other began almost 100 years ago with the architect and designer Marcel Breuer, from whom our name arises. But it is not only the name that we take from Marcel Breuer, but also his modernist ideals and the desire to implement the latest in manufacturing technology is his designs.

Spine is a series of tables consisting of two components, a thin aluminum sheet captured in a cast resin surface. The series is a result of many material explorations concerned with bent forms and enhanced flexibility. The spine of each table is formed from a 10mm plate of aluminum. The aluminum is scored on both sides, allowing for the dramatic curve to be formed. The aluminum is anodized and set in place before the resin surface is cast around the skeletal form. As the resin bonds it constrains the aluminum, suspending the spines´ curve and creating the tables structure. Traces of the organic curve remain visible through the polished resin...
