Charles Hollis Jones CHJ-575 'Box' Monumental Lucite Dining Table, Signed

About the Item

This monumental lucite dining table is by Charles Hollis Jones, custom produced from the CHJ-575 'Box' line (image of coffee table example from CHJ website shown in last photo in this listing) and comes with an authentication tag which was mailed to us by Charles himself. Featuring a massive thick lucite top which sits on top of an also massive and thick lucite Nakashima-styled trestle base. The CHJ 575 Box table is part of the 'Box' collection which was predominantly made as smaller tables, such as cocktail tables as seen on Charles Hollis Jones' website. This dining table example is a very rare, possibly custom ordered version scaled up to massive proportions. The lucite legs and top are very thick and heavy. This table is a show-stopping stunner and ready to take center stage in any room. This massive 'Box' lucite dining table by Charles Hollis Jones would work great in a Post-Modern, Mid-Century Modern, Space Age Mod, Scandanavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Zen / Minimalism room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, Hollywood Regency, Classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office. MEASUREMENTS: H 29" x W 88.25" x D 47.5" Top thickness: 1.8" thick Base thickness: 2.75" thick CONDITION: Very good vintage condition with only minimal light wear only visible upon close examination. Ready for immediate use in a luxury high-end designer home, studio or office.

  • Monumental Custom Granite and Steel Dining Table by Anthony Lumsden, 1970s
    Located in Los Angeles, CA
A jaw dropping monumental granite slab and steel dining table by famed Los Angeles architect Anthony Lumsden - custom designed and crafted for his Los Angeles home in the 1970s. Sleek, modern yet a subtle statement piece, partially due to its large size for such heavy materials, but also for its vibrant deep granite veining which reflects light in a shimmering fashion. The thick and large granite slab is heavy with no-doubt, the large chromed steel frame is also very heavy in its own regard - a sign of the quality materials he used. To re-create this staggering piece today would be costly and painfully difficult. Acquiring this dining table, which would also make an incredible conference table as well, is a great opportunity for a collector or architecture aficionado to own something truly unique and special - and something that will stand the test of time. ABOUT THE ARTIST: Anthony Lumsden was a famed American architect most noted for his sculptural futuristic designs with numerous projects in Southern California such as the Tillman Water Reclamation Plant, often seen in Hollywood films and television shows such as Star Trek Next Generation...
