Maple trestle table with heavily carved legs and high, through-tenon trestle. Flame maple top has hand rubbed finish, gilt and black lacquered border, with a gilt and emerald green harlequin patterned apron. Internally stored single leaf. Manufactured by the Phoenix Chair Company of Sheboygan Falls Wisconsin.
Phoenix Chair Company was an old line, revered furniture manufacturer located in Sheboygan , WI. It was founded in the third quarter of the 19th century when a fire forced the closing of nearby factory. It closed in the 1930's, a victim of the Depression.
