About the Item
Oval dining table, English Burr Oak with Chapel legs:
For this table, I first sauce the perfect slabs for the tabletop which can take some time to find, the main thing is that you are not in a hurry, this will be a one-of-a-kind unique project. Once I have found the perfect slabs I will send you photographs for you to approve and keep you updated as we progress to the final finishing. The oil finish can either be a natural ( main photos) oak or darker or lighter shades.
Oak can also be ebonized to an almost black with the grain colour still visible, see the Photo of the ebony finishes.
The tabletop has a complete live edge running around the entire circumference of the slabs.
The tabletop stands on the Chapel Legs which have a curved architectural form, giving weight to the overall look and design. The table is initialled on the underside with the project-making number.

Jonathan Field
Jonathan’s work has been shown at various exhibitions and shows in the UK and Abroad and by his gallery Connaught Brown of London. Jonathan is a member of the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers. He was delighted to be awarded a bespoke guild mark award for an edition of ten chairs in rippled ash completed in 2017. “Much of my inspiration comes from the patterns, shapes and textures found in nature, from the micro to full-scale aerial and landscape views, simple flowing lines and visual-tactile details of the wood are framed within each design. Using wood predominantly from the UK, that has a history and a beauty entirely unique to each piece, the distinctive aspects of the timber are often a starting point when considering a project for a client, the selection of the materials, the detail and love of the making process are all carried through within each piece.
With this table, so much depends on finding the perfect shaped slabs for the tabletop, if you're not in to much of a hurry and are happy with a relaxed deadline then it is a lovely project.
